Let's face it, I love the looks of a blackberry and can't help but paint them! This is a version of the same image I painted of the painting, "Little Gems" only with the brambles and background imagery in place. This is one of the few paintings I have done on cradled birch board. It's a one of a kind as I did not scan it.
The painting measures 12 x 12" and is watercolor paper affixed to cradled birch board. It's like a canvas in presentation and may be framed or left unframed. The edges are sanded and waxed birch without a stain.
The painting has more texture than one painted on plain paper and took me much longer to complete than a typical painting. This is because the paper on this surface seems to endlessly absorb the paint before gaining a saturated look.
